W.E.B. Dubois, a civil rights activist, sociologist, educator, historian, writer, editor, poet and scholar. He devoted his life to scholarship, and succeeded in his efforts toward getting fair and equal treatment for African-Americans in a world dominated by the majority. Because of his willingness to lead and live a courageous life centered around the importance of hard work and education, I have the opportunity to do the same in my field and strive to make a difference as a black woman in journalism.
