Speak the truth in love.”
~ Ephesians 4:15 ~
Today the Supreme Court passed a law that same-sex marriage is now legal in all 50 states. Am I surprised? No, not at all; but I would be remiss if I said that I wasn’t disappointed. While the nation rejoices, my heart is aching. It aches for the original intent of the Father. It aches for the sacramental institution of marriage in the United States (Matthew 19:4-5). It aches for the next generation. It aches for the souls of those who were never taught biblical truths and those who were taught and chose differently.
Posts are plastered around today saying “Love Wins” but the idea of love has been warped to appease a perverse world. This “new normal” masquerades itself as standard and projects “equality” but its community is foreign. Do we shun the them? No. It would behoove us to love them to righteousness. We ought to share the love of Jesus Christ through our example, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit, teach them about the power of deliverance, Christ’s boundless grace, His mercy, His favor, and His forgiveness.
It is my sincerest hope that Christians will continue to bring the state of this nation to the Father in prayer, and that we will not shy away from the opportunity to be a beacon of light in a dark, lost and changing world.
